Challenge yourself to create a new game in one weekend. No programming experience required. Open to NY high school students.
A game jam is an event where participants create a game from scratch in ~48 hours based on a theme. The theme will be chosen by us and revealed on Friday, February 9th, marking the start of the event.
Participants are free to work in a team or individually. If they desire to be on a team, participants can either make their own teams or be placed on a team.
Participants may use outside resources and assets but if they do not own them, they must cite them. Even though imported assets are allowed, in judging, we value originality. Participants may only use smaller assets and the majority of their game, especially the functionality, must be original.
Although submissions are generally video games, we will accept other types of games (eg. board and card games), but know that it may be difficult for others to play them. For video games, participants can create games with any tools and in any format (2D, 3D, VR, AR), but games are ideally playable in the browser, or downloadable for mac and windows. There is no prior experience necessary to participate.
The winner of the event will receive a prize.
